Residents of Pennsylvania have just received news that will anger some but make others very happy.

After several months of speculation, MSNBC Hardball host, Chris Matthews, has decided not to run for the U.S. Senate.

According to reports, Matthews told his producers in a meeting on Wednesday that he isn't seeking the Democratic nomination for the seat in Pennsylvania. That seat is currently held by moderate Republican Arlen Specter and is up for re-election later in 2010.

Instead, Matthews is now said to be spending time going over his contract renewal offer from MSNBC.

And, according to an interview last month, MSNBC president Phil Griffin said that he expected Chris to stay at network "for a long time."

Though, as of yesterday, Matthews, Griffin, and other execs declined to comment on the situation.

So, do U want Matthews to stay as the host of Hardball or u don't really care?

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt took pictures and signed autographs around LA yesterday after Spencer had yet another meeting with Kevin Casey. Heidi showed off her nails monogrammed with the Chanel logo — love it or hate it? — and then took a trip to the store for some shopping. The couple seems just as strong as ever despite their recent obstacles on the road to a real wedding, and Spencer even admitted to InTouch that he never knew you had to legalize a marriage. He also said he'll televise his future legally-binding wedding to Heidi "because of the fans and haters" — wonder which there are more of these days.

Protesters wear signs on their backs that say ‘don’t shoot’ during a demonstration at the Fruitvale BART station Wednesday in Oakland, California.

Oscar Grant was fatally shot in the back by a Bay Area Rapid Transit (B.A.R.T.) police officer early on New Year’s morning after police responded to reports of fighting on a train.

Protests, which began peacefully erupted shortly after Oscar Grant was laid to rest on Wednesday night.

According to CNN, the Oakland Police Department made 105 arrests, including a mass arrest of about 80 people at 11 p.m., said Officer Jeff Thomason. The charges include inciting a riot, vandalism, assault on a police officer and unlawful assembly, he said. One officer was injured, but not seriously, Thomason said.
