Fall Out Boy will perform their new Folie A Deux in its entirety at the Chicago Theatre on December 2nd. The performance will then be televised by Fuse on the night of the album’s release on December 16th. If you happen to live in the Windy City, tickets for the concert go on sale November 28th and cost a mere $10. The band originally planned on releasing Folie on Election Day, but opted to delay the album’s release so that it wouldn’t be overshadowed by the historic election. Bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz is due to become a father any day, as wife Ashlee Simpson is currently attempting to induce labor.

Perhaps touring with Oasis has taught Ryan Adams a thing or two about starting a rock feud. In an interview with The Guardian, Adams responded to the question “What’s the frequency, Kenneth?” with an assault on R.E.M. “I mean, seriously, who is Kenneth? The answer should be, ‘Hey Michael [Stipe], what would happen if you sat down and actually thought this shit out for 10 minutes?,’” Adams said. “I mean, no offense but there’s a slight difference between Monster and Fables Of The Reconstruction and we all know what that is; it’s a level of giving a fuck. $80m will do that to anyone who has a credit card and access to a Barney’s.” Perhaps Adams would be better served checking Wikipedia to find out whom Kenneth was. Next, Adams took aim at the Killers. “Fame is an unnatural construct and those who go in search of it are the least likely to find it. I mean, really, does anyone want to sit through a show by the Killers?” Adams says. No word whether Adams also misconstrues the Killers’ “Human” chorus lyrics as “dancer” or “denser.”

One of the most interesting aspects of singing is that the instrument is contained within, and ultimately there’s nothing to lean on except the vocalist’s own skills and talents. Those moments of inner exploration are captured in this special gallery that accompanies the Rolling Stone 100 Greatest Singers of All Time. Click below to see Kurt Cobain, Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, Sam Cooke and others caught in candid moments in the studio, complete with reflections from the photographers.

Following the jet crash that nearly killed DJ AM and Travis Barker, Barker’s +44 bandmate Mark Hoppus has been pondering the future of their old band Blink-182. “In the midst of everything else that has happened lately, Tom, Travis, and I have all spoken together,” Hoppus writes on his blog. “First through a number of phone calls, and then a couple of weeks ago we all hung out for a few hours. They’ve all been great, very positive conversations. We’re just reconnecting as friends after four years of not talking.” Following the demise of Blink-182, Hoppus and Barker formed the backbone of +44 while Tom DeLonge splintered off to create Angels & Airwaves. So do the conversations mean we can expect a 182 reunion? “The answer is none of us know. We haven’t talked about it at all. Right now it’s just good for the three of us to see one another, reconnect, and let the past be the past,” Hoppus writes. “The events of the past two months supersede everything that happened before. Life is too short.”

Country darling Taylor Swift has the top-selling album in America right now, which means her ex-boyfriends can look forward to being raked over the coals for years to come. “I like writing songs about boys and relationships,” Swift explains. “And when someone breaks up with me, I like to write about it, because I feel like I have the last word. That’s the fun part.” Click below for more on Swift, including what song she considers a country classic and why she compulsively sings the national anthem.

“Anybody my age turning on MTV and seeing Annie Lennox sing ‘Sweet Dreams,’ that was enough right there,” says Matchbox Twenty singer Rob Thomas of the former singer of the Eurythmics. Thomas cites her vocal variety as the key to her greatness. “When she does stuff like ‘No More I Love Yous,’ she gets this ethereal Sarah McLachlan-esque kind of thing that just sounds like a beautiful angel. And then she can switch over the sound of her voice and make it sound like she’s gargling glass. And so many people can’t do that,” he says. Click below for more from Thomas on Lennox and for more from Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time.

Bassist keeps expectations low, but says plane crash put things in perspective: 'Life is too short.'
By James Montgomery

Last week, at the mtvU Woodie Awards, former Blink-182er (and current member of +44) Mark Hoppus spoke about his best friend and bandmate Travis Barker, who is recovering from second-and-third degree burns suffered in a September 19 plane crash that killed four people and seriously injured DJ AM.

And this week, Hoppus kept on talking — er, blogging — only this time it wasn't just about about Barker, but former Blink bandmate Tom DeLonge, too. Seems that, for the first time since Blink went on "indefinite hiatus" in February 2005, all three members have been spending time together ... which, of course, could mean that we're in the early stages of a full-on Blink reunion. Maybe.

"In the midst of everything else that has happened lately, Tom, Travis and I have all spoken together," Hoppus wrote on his official site, HiMyNameIsMark.com. First, through a number of phone calls, and then a couple of weeks ago we all hung out for a few hours. They've all been great, very positive conversations. We're just reconnecting as friends after four years of not talking. It's a good thing. Obviously the first question for a lot of people will be, 'Does this mean a Blink-182 reunion?' The answer is none of us know. We haven't talked about it at all. Right now it's just good for the three of us to see one another, reconnect and let the past be the past. The events of the past two months supersede everything that happened before. Life is too short."

Despite the public silence from Barker's former Blink-mates in the immediate wake of the crash — which lasted just a couple of weeks — this sounds very much like the hatchet being buried. And as if that news wasn't enough to send Blink fans into a tizzy, consider what Hoppus told MTV News last week, when he was asked when fans can expect a new album from his and Barker's post-Blink band, +44: "Hopefully, in the next couple months we'll see [Barker] behind the kit, I pray. No matter what I work on, Travis will be part of, for sure."

Hoppus' post wasn't entirely devoted to stoking the Blink flames. He also wrote at great length about "Little" Chris Baker and Charles "Che" Still, two of Barker's friends and associates who were killed in the crash.

"These past two months have been the hardest times that I can remember, and I hope that we never see anything like this ever again," he wrote. "Even two months later, I still can't believe what happened, and it's too much to talk about. But let me say that I think about Little Chris every single day, and the world is not the same without him. He is one of the best people I've ever known. We traveled the world together, spending countless hours on buses and planes, in hotel lobbies and dressing rooms. ... I'm so sad that he is not here right now. There are just no words."
