NY man demands estranged wife pay him for kidney

New York doctor is demanding that his estranged wife pay him $1.5 million to compensate him for the kidney he gave her while they were still on good terms. Dr. Richard Batista spoke Wednesday to reporters at his lawyer's office in Garden City, Long Island.

He said he gave his kidney to Dawnell Batista in June 2001. She filed for divorce in July 2005.

The 49-year-old Batista works for Nassau University Medical Center. The couple have three children, ages, 8, 11 and 14.

A message left for his wife's attorney, Douglas Rothkopf, was not immediately returned.

Lily Allen is crediting hypno-therapy with her sudden and dramatic weight loss.

Harley Street hypnotist Susan Hepburn said that she "taught Lily to favour healthy, low-fat meals instead of junk food. And to see that alcohol isn't a confidence booster, it's just extra calories that sabotage your efforts to get a good body."

The weight loss method, which is gaining popularity in London after achieving success in Los Angeles and New York, cost Allen about $600 a session, and we're sure that her sugar daddy didn't mind footing the bill.

Sounds a little kooky to us.

Maybe it was just all the verbal diarrhea that caused her to drop 2 dress sizes!

Or perhaps it was the LezLo diet?

In Seattle, 11 gay bars have been the target of bio threats.

The Elite, Neighbours, The Wildrose Bar, The Cuff, Purr, The Seattle Eagle, R Place, Re-bar, C.C.Attle's, Madison Pub, and The Crescent have received anonymous letters stating "I have in my possession approximately 67 grams of ricin with which I will indiscriminately target at least five of your clients. … I expect them to die painfully while in hospital."

Rincin occurs naturally in castor beans, but when purified and ingested or inhaled, the substance can be fatal.

The Seattle Police Department is taking the threats seriously, employing the assistance of the FBI to get to the bottom of the threats.

The bars in question have warned customers to take extra precautions supervising their drinks.

A 12th letter was sent to alternative publication The Stranger warning them to be "prepared to announce the deaths of approximately 55 individuals."

The Stranger's editorial director, openly gay Dan Savage, of the blunt and sometimes controversial Savage Love sex advice column, says the threats don't worry him because "I get a death threat a day with Savage Love."

Savage surmised that the letters come from a bitter gay because they indicate no religious reasons for the the threats, and, that if anything, the letters will increase business at the bars because clients will show up to show their support.

Amen! No one gets between us gays and happy hour!!!

Not all parents are fans of Miley Cyrus and her shiteous Disney Channel show, Hannah Montana.

In fact, Cindy Crawford has banned her daughter from watching the show!

Why????

It seems her 7 year-old daughter has been learning to talk back from watching the clips.

Cindy says about her daughter Kaya, "I love Hannah Montana, but she learns to be sassy from that show. I'll say to her, 'I don't let anyone talk to me like that. I'll certainly not take it from a seven year old, in my own house.'"

We agree.

Good parenting includes monitoring what your children watch on television on the web.

If Cindy thinks it's a bad influence, then away with Hannah Montana.

Maybe other parents will do the same!

Vogue's doing a good job these day of getting the celebs to say juicy shiz!

There was Maniston's 'uncool' snark in a December interview and in the February UK edition, they have Girls Aloud's Cheryl Cole talking smack!

Cheryl soccer star husband, Ashley Cole, famously cheated on her last year. She tells Vogue that her supposed friend and fellow WAG, Victoria Beckham, failed to support her and reach out when she needed her most:

"She [Victoria] was in my hotel room during the World Cup - we've had barbecues together - so I was quite shocked by that. I mean, David's mum is friends with Ashley's mum."

And Posh knows a thing or two about cheating scandals!

Cheryl, the pistol that she is, went on to refer to the 'other' WAGS as "wooden blocks".

Ha!!

When the interviewer asked for her thoughts on rockspawn Peaches Geldof, Miz Cole replied, she was "totally up herself".

No questions about her X Factor co-host , Dannii Minogue?

Did you know that Cheryl was convicted of 'causing Actual Bodily Harm' back in 2003 after a fight at a nightclub?!

If one of the ladies she talks crap about has any issues, we're sure Cheryl would be more than happy to address them face-to-face!

Oprah Winfrey won't be hosting an inaugural party for Barack Obama this month after all!

Despite past rumors, a source at O's production company, Harpo, is now setting the record straight.

The insider confirms that Winfrey won't be sponsoring a party when she hits the road later this month for the inauguration.

In a recent interview, Oprah said, "Everybody's calling me about a party. I'm like, 'Isn't somebody else having a party?'…I don't know about the party thing yet…There is extreme party confusion. I'm trying to get to the bottom of it myself!"

Too bad.

We feel like an Oprah party would be the soiree during inauguration week!
